Restore Interaction
If you run into a problem that you double click a script and nothing happens the likely cause is that a rogue script you have run has switch off the userInteractionLevel property and not switched it back on. To sort this problem dowload this script and run it once to switch the userInteractionLevel property back on. Download>>

Columns2Frames
This script was developed as part of the training requirements needed when the Daily Express moved to an InDesign/InCopy workflow. They often needed to split text frames that had been subdivided into separate frames that were still linked so they extend column lengths. Digital Dimension in co-operation with David Blatner and Steve Werner wrote this script as freeware.

Proper Fraction
Select a fraction in a font that is not OpenType like 1/8. Simply double-click the script. You get a properly styled fraction.

Batch Export Documents
The script (batch) converts and exports files/documents in a chosen folder. It can be used to batch export InDesign documents to PDF or other formats, but also to update large amounts of InDesign documents to a newer version. Download>>

Layout Zones
InDesign CS3 enables a user to import or place another InDesign document onto a page, and this script takes that feature one step further by enabling the user to define a geometry within an InDesign document, and then essentially export that geometry as a new, linked InDesign document that someone else can edit. This is great for defining the frame size for an ad within InDesign, and then exporting that frame for someone else to build the actual ad that will be placed into that frame.When they’re done, you can just click Update in the Links panel (to update the InDesign document). Or you can choose Edit menu> Layout Zone > Linked InDesign Page to Objects, to convert that person’s design back into editable pieces in InDesign. Download>>

Create a PDF from a Selection on a Page
This script adds a new command in the File menu allowing you to save the selected items on the page as a PDF file. Download>>

This script allows you to select a column or row of figures in a table and generate a total in a new cell Download>>

To install these scripts:
1.Click on the link to download them.
2.Unzip the folder. You’ll find a ReadMe file in there, which explains the script and how it works.
3. In InDesign, choose Window > Automation > Scripts. This opens the Scripts panel.
4.Right-click (or Control-click on a Mac) on the User folder inside the Scripts panel, and choose Open in Finder (or Open in Windows Explorer). This opens the folder the downloaded script should be placed.
5.Drag the script into the folder; if you open the User folder in the Scripts panel (by clicking the little triangle next to it), you should see the script you have just added.
6.You can run any script by double-clicking on it. You can also assign keyboard shortcuts to scripts to run them.
